The Emergency Livestock Relief Program (ELRP) is part of FSA’s implementation of the Extending Government Funding and Delivering Emergency Assistance Act (P.L. 117-43), which provides $10 billion in much needed emergency assistance for agricultural producers, including $750 million specifically targeted for livestock producers impacted by the severe drought or eligible wildfire. Producers who have approved applications through the 2021 Livestock Forage Disaster Program for losses of grazing acres due to severe drought or wildfire will soon begin receiving disaster assistance payments for increases in supplemental feed costs in 2021 through the ELRP.

The Missouri legislature created Operation Recognition in September 2001 to provide honorary high school diplomas for Veterans and civilian prisoners of war (POWs) who left high school before graduation to serve in the military. Who is eligible for an honorary diploma? All civilian POWs who are residents or former residents of the state of Missouri and all honorably discharged Veterans who are residents or former residents of the state of Missouri who served in the United States military and who did not return to school and complete their education after their term of service shall be eligible to receive an honorary diploma. Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc. (PHWFF) began in 2005 serving wounded military service members at Walter Reed Army Medical Center returning from combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. Since then, PHWFF has expanded nationwide, establishing its highly successful program in Department of Defense hospitals, Warrior Transition Units, and Veterans Affairs Medical Centers and clinics.
This is a FAMILY retreat for warriors with PTSD that has been operating since 2007. Project Sanctuary helps military families thrive with six-day, therapeutic retreats and an additional two years of family support services. Their evidenced-based program is the only program that treats the entire family, helping veterans, spouses, caregivers, and kids heal together.
PTSD includes a range of symptoms that can effect family members. When someone has PTSD, their ability to function as a parent or partner can be impacted, and changes in their functioning can lead to unmet family needs and increased stress within the family. The Fallen Outdoors mission is to organize outdoor adventures for veterans past and present, from every generation, and from all branches of the military. Their aim is to connect Soldiers, Airmen, Sailors, and Marines with like-minded individuals along with teaching them a skill and passion they can continue for a lifetime. Team Missouri has trips ranging from bow fishing, snagging spoonbill, fishing, waterfowl, upland birds, dove, deer, turkey, kayaking, camping, and many other get-togethers. Last year they conducted 88 trips as a team and got 612 veterans out on trips. They also do volunteer river cleanups on the Pomme de Terre river and help local landowners out along that area. They have one track chair available for trips. Veterans can become members of The Fallen Outdoors free of charge and then they are eligible to register for events. Participants are chosen typically by a lottery drawing among those who register for the event.

VHA, in collaborations with the Department of Defense (DoD) and other leading professional organizations, has been developing clinical practice guidelines since the early 1990s. In 2010 the Institute of Medicine identified VA/DoD as leaders in clinical practice guideline development. Patients at the Truman VA Hospital in Columbia, MO have the opportunity to serve as paid apprentices through the VA’s transitional work program. Apprentices work to maintain the Veterans Urban Farm over the course of the growing season. Fruits and vegetables grown on site are sold to the public, donated to local veterans, and used in health-focused programming at the VA Hospital.
