Missouri State Parks

Missouri State Parks values the contributions of Veterans, current service members and their families. They offer several free or discounted programs and activities.
The Hero Hunt/Military and Veterans Appreciation Hunt is hosted by Mark Twain State Park and Crowder State Park. This is an all-inclusive managed deer hunt for Missouri residents only. Hunters who have been drawn in past are ineligible to hunt at the same location but can apply for the other. A hunter is considered ineligible if they have participated in both hunting locations. Applicants are limited to Veterans and Active Service Members to include Reservists and National Guard. Selected hunters will be provided with the following at no cost: lodging, meals, limited deer processing, hunting guide, and deer tags will be provided and will not count against your regular season count. Twenty hunter (20) names will be drawn for the Mark Twain State Park Hunt held 6-8 November 2026. Fifteen hunter (15) names will be drawn for the Crowder State Park Hunt held 4-6 December 2026. Selected hunters will be notified beginning September 15, 2025. You will not be notified if you are not selected.
